Ngati Whatua is taking an active role in supporting the needs of rangatahi, the “leaders of tomorrow

It is about creating sustainable systems that is tuakana-teina led with a key focus on building relationships.

Providing access to tools and resources that will support rangatahi to complete secondary school successfully.

CORE PRINCIPLES

He Maara Hou is about working with students, parents, schools, teachers, community organisations, and iwi, to be an interlink for Ngāti Whātua youth to complete secondary school education.

An initiative made possible by the Ngati Whatua Whanau Ora Collective and underpinned by core tikanga values such as aroha, tika and pono.

Whanaungatanga

He Maara Hou is invested in supporting rangatahi to complete secondary education by providing resources and tools, enabling reconnection with cultural heritage and identity through whanaungatanga.

He Maara Hou is about kotahitanga,
unity with a common purpose

A New Garden

Building the capacity and capability of the next generation to succeed in education. It is about planting and nurturing the seeds so rangatahi can grow and develop an interest in education while being equipped with the necessary tools and resources.
